Diane was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1984 and obtained an LLM. at King’s College in London in 1986. In 1986, she worked as Provincial Crown Counsel in Vancouver/Victoria and, from 1990 to 1996, provided policy and legal advice at the Criminal Justice Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General. She served on the British Columbia Task Force on Family Violence and as Chair of the committee which developed the 1993 Attorney General Policy on Violence Against Women in Relationships. She sat on various committees at the Law Society of British Columbia between 1999 and 2004, including the Discipline Committee. She was also a member of the Judicial Council of the Provincial Court of British Columbia for four years and is on the list of counsel for the International Criminal Court. She is often approached to speak on issues related to violence against women and children and has been an advocate for victim serving agencies for many years. |
